You can’t be pro confidence and self love for womxn and then feel/speak all hateful when you meet one that knows their worth and beauty and is not afraid to shine... I literally sat in a workshop a few weeks ago and listened to a man go on and on about the importance of respecting and honoring womxn and how we have to recognize how special, powerful, and divine we are. Then literally says, “Ladies, you’re perfect, just don’t you dare act like it.” Then proceeds to force his translator to translate the word “motherfucker” into Spanish when she was speaking for him and didn’t want to. Literally in front of a grip of womxn and elders. Fuck that. Stop insisting that womxn compartmentalize our own experience of self love. Stop insisting that we source our self worth from patriarchal/white supremacist ideations of feminine confidence, even when you’re encouraging us to love ourselves.
